Body Shop Essentials

I love a good browse around the Body Shop, occasionally discovering the odd new find (case in point: the Almond Nail & Cuticle Oil pen that has become firmly affixed in my nailcare routine) as well as picking up some essentials. There are a handful of Body Shop items that I always go back and repurchase (in a variety of different fruity scents, naturally) - I just love how simple, easy and practical their products are, as well as smelling good enough to eat.

One thing I always stock up on is their soap-free body cleansers which contain natural oils, come in a wide variety of scents, and leave my skin feeling clean, soft and beautifully scented. Pictured are some of my favourites; Mango, Vineyard Peach and Olive - but I also really dig Sweet Lemon, and the limited edition versions Papaya, Raspberry Ripple and Fuzzy Peach are definitely worth looking out for. I also love their creamier body washes which come in Shea, Cocoa Butter, Coconut and Brazil Nut and are lovely to lather up with in the colder months. At £4 each these dinky 250ml gels aren’t cheap, but the Body Shop always have so many deals on, and these are usually on 4 for £10 which I think is pretty good considering they leave my skin feeling comfortable and nourished.

Another item I always bulk-buy are their solid soap bars, which again come in every scent under the Body Shop sun and leave my mits clean and soft without feeling stripped of moisture. Currently rocking my bathroom sink is the Shea soap, while my all-time fave Coconut is next in line - I’m also really keen to sample the Brazil Nut which I’m yet to try! These last so much longer than regular liquid handwash, leave your hands smelling edible (is that a good thing?) and at £2 a pop are satisfyingly purse-friendly.

I took a while getting round to sampling the new body mists and eau de toilettes that were launched earlier this year, but now that I have I know I’ll be repurchasing for some time to come. I’ve waxed lyrical about the Mango eau de toilette (£8.50) several times already; great for popping in your handbag for freshening up throughout the day – I get so many compliments on how nice I smell when I wear this. The scent isn’t super long-wearing so you do have to re-apply, but for the price I’m not complaining. The Coconut body mist (£7.50), on the other hand, is perfect for spritzing all over the body and/or clothing, leaving you smelling coconut-y good all day long. This is a really creamy, sophisticated coconut scent, not sickly or artificial in the slightest. I really want to try both of these in the Shea and Brazil Nut scents now.

Last up, some less exciting essentials I always pick up are cotton wool pads and shower puffs. I’ve been sticking faithfully to organic cotton wool (£2.50) for a while now; I just find it so much gentler and softer on my redness-prone skin, so whenever I go in I pick up a couple of packs – or if I’m in Boots I’ll get the Botanics version. The Body Shop’s ultra-fine bath lilies (£2) are (in my opinion) the best on the market; anything cheaper falls apart after a couple of good scrubs, and these come in an array of bright and cheery colours, perfecting for perking up our (windowless) bathroom.

What are your favourite products from the Body Shop?
Do you like any of the items I’ve mentioned?
