Coconut is one of my all-time favourite scents. If a product so much as mentions containing coconut-derived ingredients I’m instantly intrigued, and though I may have outgrown my teenage Malibu obsession, I still love to soak, slather and spritz myself in the beautiful scent. The above purchases all happened quite by accident (the result of some impossible-to-pass-up half price deals) and it wasn’t until I got home that I realised there was a running theme. I’ve been loving them all equally, but what I love most is using them all in conjunction for a really coconuty treat – my idea of a good time.
After a long hard (sweaty) day at work, there’s nothing I
love more than coming home and running a bath, adding a good capful or two of
the Radox Tropical Tranquility Bath Smoothie (£3.15) which is fragranced with almonds, coconut and myrrh.
This is right up my street and definitely my kind of scent – sweet, creamy and
a little fruity, this is more of a layered scent than your straight-up coconut
and I love it. If I’m having a proper pamper, I’ll stick on a face mask and
grab a magazine and really make the most of those bubbles. A real
budget buy and one I think I’ll definitely repurchase - as
it’s quite a versatile scent (tropical but also warm and creamy) it will work
well in the colder months too.
After I’m done soaking I give myself a good scrub with my
current shower gel of choice – I’ve always been a fan of Original Source body washes (the raspberry & vanilla milk and chocolate & mint are particularly nice), so when I spied
this new coconut version (£2.20) on the shelves of Boots I had to have it. I was a bit worried
it would be a sickly sweet artificial scent, but was pleasantly surprised by
the mellow creamy, sugary aroma. I love washing
with this – almost refreshing in a way, the best part is that the scent lingers
on the skin for hours afterwards.
After drying off and applying my body moisturiser of
choice (I’m currently alternating between the Dove Summer Body and Garnier 7
Days Sweet Almond), I spritz all over with the Body Shop Coconut body mist (£7.50) –
there’s something about the Body Shop coconut scent that’s unlike any other and
so unique, I can’t put my finger on what it is but I’d recognise it anywhere.
I’ve been loving spraying this directly onto skin as well as onto clothing; on
skin, this dries down beautifully with a really sweet edge. I also own the Body
Shop Mango eau de toilette (which I love applying to pulse points throughout
the day for a quick burst of refreshing fruitness), and I actually think this
body mist is a stronger, more concentrated scent.
The next coconut product on my lust-list is the full-size
Body Shop Coconut body butter – which I’ve tried before and love – but not for
a while due to the often mentioned tower of body butters awaiting use. I also
really want to try the Bumble & Bumble Creme de Coco shampoo &
conditioner at some point!
If
you’re a coconut lover I strongly suggesting giving all of these products a
try!
What
are your favourite coconut products?
